FLIPPING THE SWITCH: TURNING PRESSURE INTO PERFORMANCE

An Evening with Brian Lomax, Ed.D.

Expert Mental Performance Coach & Founder of PerformanceXtra

Wednesday, October 14

7-8pm, Weston High School Auditorium

Pressure is part of sports. The goal isn't to eliminate it - it is learning how to manage it, harness it, and use it to perform at your best.

Come join Weston Boosters for an evening with Brian Lomax, an expert mental performance coach & founder of PerformanceXtra, who will share practical physical and mental strategies that student-athletes can use to manage and harness pressure to improve performance at practice and in competition, including tools for managing stress, developing positive self-talk, building confidence, and learning to perform when the stakes are high.

Through engaging discussion, real-world examples, concrete takeaways, and video interviews with professional athletes, students will leave with strategies they can put into practice the very next day. Coaches and parents will also gain insight into how they can help young athletes develop confidence, resilience, and a healthy mindset around performance.

But the conversation goes beyond sports. The ability to manage pressure, embrace challenges, recover from setbacks, and stay grounded is a skill that carries into the classroom, relationships, extracurriculars, and life beyond the playing field.

Weston Boosters invites all Weston students, athletes, coaches and parents to come learn how to stop fighting pressure and start using it to your advantage!
